Wolseley 16/45 H.P. (Ttwo Litre) Sports 1927 £

This is a very early car with a lot of patina, owned by a well known VSCC member for the last 17 years who is now retiring from driving. The six cylinder engine has been rebuilt bored to +.040 which makes it 2050cc. New camshaft made with improved performance and larger SU carb and reconditioned magneto fitted. A new crown wheel and pinion set with higher ratio have been made and fitted to improve road speed, and a modern dynamo has been fitted in the chassis as the original didn't cope with the higher engine revs now available, and top speed of close to 70mph!!. The chassis is in very good order with extremely good brakes on all four wheels, running on 500x21 inch wheels. The car has a 'Barker" mechanical headlamp dip system which is good fun! The body has a bench seat 50 inches wide with a full width dickey seat and light rear screen, but the side aprons have disappeared at some time over the years. The paint work is coach brushed and suits the car well, not sure on the colour choice though. A chance to own a very early car that will keep up with modern traffic at a third of the price of its MG sister. Offered at £19950
